Good photographs have come a bit slowly to me lately. I'll be lowing my own standards for uploading to this account. I was trying to keep it high quality but it's better just to upload what I like, even if it's not so great. ~yellowpumpkin, my photo every day project is still going strong, check it out!

I guess one step forward for me is my movement towards film. I'm learning to shoot, develop and print. Spending time in a darkroom alone is nice. It just seems like an inefficient way to get a photo though. Sure it's nice seeing a print appear on a piece of white paper, but isn't it the end product that counts?

If I spend hours in a darkroom and get an image that is identical to something I've processed on a computer is it less worthy? I can overlay grain filters and put dust on with ease, and blur it too if you like.

To me film photography seems to be another way to differentiate yourself from the norm, to raise your profile and climb a hierarchy.

So, in photography is it the end product or journey that counts?
Anyway, my opinion on all this will u-turn if I master film...
